Jingles
Today Sean, Callum, Ross and I started working on some jingles for our podcast! These will enable us to connect different sections of our podcast together. Look out for them in our podcast – I shall be voicing them!

We decided to use the Lincolnshire Poacher piece because it is a very well known piece, especially around Lincoln, so people would be able to relate to it. Initially we had the idea to have jingles that progressed through time, as the podcast does, however in the end we decided to stick to one jingle and one sting to make the podcast more identifiable.

The Day of Interviews
Today was a big day for us all. The initial package deadline is looming near and the group are rushing to ensure that everything is done. Sean and I have been out interviewing and recording since the early hours of the morning. The day started with ANOTHER walk up Steep Hill to get to the cathedral for an interview with John Campbell, the Dean’s Verger. We asked him a variety of questions on preserving the history of Lincoln, which gave us a fascinating insight to the cathedral.
Outside of the interview we asked Mr Campbell about the filming of The Da Vinci Code, and whether he had met any of the stars.
“Yes I’ve met Tom Hanks… he ate my Frosties!”, exclaimed Mr Campbell. Apparently there had been a truck wagon of fresh food, from which Tom Hanks could have had anything he desired… Except Frosties (or ‘Frosted Flakes’, as Tom calls them). Being the kind man that Mr Campbell is, he went home to quickly pick some up for Tom.
“Ian McKellen has had his trousers down in my office too!”. It turns out that Ian McKellen gets changed precisely when he means to.

After a short break, we visited the Minerva building at the University of Lincoln to interview Professor Ieuan Owen, the Deputy Vice Chancellor of the university.
Lots of people like to blame the university for the modernisation of the city, but Professor Owen offered a somewhat unexpected opinion. He believed that history is a vital part of Lincoln and that it should be preserved as much as possible.

Visiting the Vistor Information Centre
The other day Callum and Ross also took the walk up Steep Hill. Whilst they were there they managed to talk to Michele Sims, the manager of the Visitor Information Centre, about her opinions on Lincoln as a student city.
